Freight cost is the first thing a buyer notices when comparing aluminum against steel on the same bill of materials. Aluminum weighs roughly one-third as much for the same section size, which changes container loading, crane requirements, and installation labor on site. Sourcing finished profiles from Indonesia extruded aluminum manufactures keeps that weight advantage intact, because extrusion produces the final cross-section in a single press operation rather than through cutting, folding, and welding separate steel components. The metal also forms its own oxide layer, so corrosion protection arrives with the material instead of as an added galvanizing stage.

PT Exalum Metal Indo operates its extrusion plant in Tangerang, Indonesia, serving industrial and architectural buyers across domestic and export markets. Working through the range of Exalummetal industrial aluminum products makes the commercial logic clear: an extensive die library means standard sections can be ordered without funding new tooling, and dimensions stay identical from one production run to the next. Each profile carries a section number, a fixed catalog reference that does not change between orders. The six profiles below cover most industrial requirements coming out of the factory.

Conveyor Profile

Conveyor profile, called T-slot extrusion in North America, carries continuous slots along its faces so brackets, guarding, and sensors attach with T-nuts rather than drilled holes. Section 70440 is a single-slot rail with a 1.35 mm wall at 1.184 kg per metre, while section 70480 doubles the slots on wider faces at 2.014 kg per metre. Doubling fixing density matters for automation builds where mounting points are dense. Full slot layouts are set out on the Exalum catalog pages.

Rectangular Hollow

Rectangular hollow section resists twisting across its full enclosed area, which open profiles cannot match under off-centre loads. Section 45150 measures 50 by 25 mm in a 1.20 mm wall at 0.470 kg per metre; section 46002 runs 75 by 25 mm in a 2.00 mm wall with a 2.00 mm radius at 1.041 kg per metre. Extruded through a porthole die, the box closes without a welded seam, so nothing along the length behaves as a weak point under repeated load.

Flat Bar

Flat bar is the stock a fabrication shop cuts into brackets, spacers, and machine bases. Section 10060 is 30 mm wide by 5 mm thick at 0.406 kg per metre, and section 10065 steps up to 60 mm by 6 mm at 0.976 kg per metre. Extruded bar arrives with clean, square faces straight from the die, unlike sheared strip cut from sheet, which leaves burrs and residual stress that have to be dressed out before the part goes into assembly.

Heatsink

Heatsink profiles move heat away from LED drivers, inverters, and telecom hardware by presenting as much fin area as possible to moving air. Section 96006 runs a 1.00 mm wall at 0.223 kg per metre for compact housings, while section 96002 carries a 1.20 mm wall at 1.021 kg per metre where sustained thermal load is higher. Fin geometry is available in straight, flared, and serrated variants, with dimensions listed per section on the Exalum site.

Equal Angle

Equal angle handles corner reinforcement, rack framing, and edge protection wherever two surfaces meet at 90 degrees. Section 20025 has 12.70 mm legs at 0.80 mm wall, weighing 0.053 kg per metre, and section 20043 is heavier at an 18 mm leg and 2.00 mm wall, 0.184 kg per metre. Because extruded angle comes from one billet, the corner radius holds a consistent grain structure with none of the work hardening a folded sheet bend introduces.

Unequal Channel

Unequal channel retains panel edges on one axis while allowing movement along the other, typically as guide rails for partitions, shopfitting, and glazed screens. Section 32032 is 25.40 mm across the web with a 12.70 mm flange in a 0.90 mm wall at 0.119 kg per metre. The uneven flange heights are intentional, giving fastener depth on the concealed side while keeping the visible edge slim. Sheet metal cannot fold that depth-to-width ratio with repeatable accuracy.

Standard sections remain the practical choice for volume manufacturing because the tooling already exists, procurement moves faster, and dimensional consistency holds across every run. Which profile fits depends on load direction, fabrication method, and finish, so specifying early keeps the build simple.

Requesting a Quotation

Exalum Metal supplies aluminum extrusion profiles in production quantities from Indonesia to the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and other industrial markets. To receive a quotation, send your profile drawing or section number, required cut lengths, estimated order volume, and finishing specification such as anodizing or powder coating to inquiry@exalummetal.com or WhatsApp +62 811 9429 970. Custom die development is available where a project calls for a non-standard section.
